The Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (“TALI”)
presents two conferences each year—one in February, and one in July or
August. Every conference has two main areas on which we focus—(1) providing
quality continuing education to our attendees; and (2) showcasing the very
best providers of products and services for the private investigative
profession by providing a large exhibit hall.
The Selection Process
-
A typical conference segment is 50 minutes and may be
repeated. In some cases we may approve up to a 2-hour back-to-back
continuation session.
-
Submit your completed proposal online; describe your
presentation fully and concisely. Your proposal will be submitted to and
reviewed by the TALI Programs Committee for approval.
-
Submitted materials will be reviewed for content, quality and
relevance to TALI’s program goals. Incomplete submissions will not be
considered.
-
TALI will check professional references to verify
presentation quality and skills.
-
If the proposal is accepted, you will receive an invitation
to participate with information regarding the schedule and other information
relevant to your presentation.
TALI’s Marketing Policy
The primary reason most individuals attend TALI conferences
is to receive high-quality continuing education instruction; i.e., to learn
techniques relevant to their investigative profession. Chosen speakers agree
to refrain from promoting their products or services during their
presentations. TALI believes that knowledgeable speakers who provide their
audiences with practical information on important issues in a professional
manner will attract those interested in products and services of their own
accord. In the interest of our attendees, the marketing policy includes, but
is not limited to, the following:
-
Logo and contact information on handouts is limited to the
last slide or handout page only.
-
Selling, “raffling off,” or drawings for any products or
services is not allowed in the sessions.
-
Soliciting attendee contact information for any purpose is
not allowed. Contact initiated by the attendee is completely acceptable.
-
Neither videotaping or audio taping sessions is permitted.
Speaker Handouts
Handouts are not required; however, a large majority of
speakers provide them and attendees greatly appreciate their consideration.
If you are accepted as a speaker, the deadline for submitting your handout
to us will be provided to you at the time you are notified of your
acceptance.
Speaker Fees & Expenses
TALI does not pay speaker fees or reimburse expenses for the
majority of the speaking opportunities. Travel arrangements are the
responsibility of the speaker.
Conference Registration
If you are selected as a speaker at a TALI conference, you
may attend the entire conference at no charge including all Keynote
addresses, educational sessions and social events.
Instructions for Submitting Proposals
To submit your proposal, we recommend the following steps:
-
Print the form and use it as an example for planning the data
you plan to submit.
-
Complete the Speaker Proposal in its entirety. Should you
leave the form, you will have to start again.
-
You may move to the next data field using your “tab” key.
-
Make sure all content is written into the proposal. You may
not attach extra pages.
-
Review your proposal carefully for accuracy, completeness and
neatness as the information provided will be printed in TALI’s advertising
brochures, TALI publications, and will appear on TALI’s web site.
-
If you are submitting proposals on more than one topic,
complete a separate Speaker Proposal for each topic.
-
We do not want a full resume or CV. Your biography should be
no more than half a page and will be used for introducing you at the
conference. Should you want a full CV included in conference handout
materials you may provide no more than 2-pages and is due at the time of
other handouts.
We appreciate your interest in providing professional
presentations and being an attendee at our conferences.
TALI reserves the right to edit submitted information as
deemed appropriate.
