
Leveraging Cell Phone Data in Your Investigations
This session will cover briefly how to efficiently get through the enormous amount of cell phone data using opensource software and provided Discovery. We will also discuss how to know if you have all the data and what data disappears quickly, proper handling of mobile devices prior to extraction and what you need to request in discovery.
Speaker: Jesse Caloway
Bio: Jesse Caloway started his training in 1998 with the U.S. Air Force Security Forces Technical school where he learned security and law enforcement techniques. In 2004, Inv. Caloway attended Military Police Investigations School learning how to break down crime scenes, physical evidence, statement analysis, interviewing and interrogating, etc. Jesse opened his investigations agency in 2017 and quickly realized how much cell phone data was being gathered during both criminal and private investigations. Jesse started his mobile device forensic training in 2018 with Cellebrite basic courses. Since then, he has completed over 600 hours of training through multiple sources including Cellebrite, MSAB, Magnet, and International Association of Computer Investigative Specialist. He has been trained and certified in advanced extraction techniques, mobile device repair, media authentication, advanced database analysis and call detail record analysis. Jesse works both state and federal cases along with assisting local law enforcement agencies when requested.
